Being cheeky robots ourselves, we thought it would be fun to turn this into a treasure hunt riddle and see how long it would take anyone to figure it out. What a big surprise to see it took the community less than 3 hours to clear that riddle. If you have missed it, here is a quick rundown of what you have to do.We hid a secret capsule in the first area of GPU Jungle (Render Forest). To make it appear, you must stand on top of a big plant near the edge of the level, just behind the Bloodborne Hunter Bot. Inside the capsule, another Special Bot (Lady Maria) appears to be trapped and needs rescuing. Each world represents a classic PlayStation console from the PS1 all the way up to the PS5.

This references the 2018 God of War on PS4, also developed by SIE Santa Monica Studio. The composition of this easter egg is specifically mimicking the box art of the game. Once you encounter the first Shock Walls, make your way South-East into a pink area filled with spider webs you can thrust through. At the end you’ll find an Artefact, as well as a Bot hanging upside-down from the ceiling by a web. This is a reference to 2018’s Spider-Man, developed by Insomnia Games.

If you want curated lists of our favorite media, check out What to Play and What to Watch. It’s a fun platformer with some of the best controls and is accessible to everyone who owns a PlayStation 5. With an experience like this, it’s no wonder that Astro Bot has a devoted following so much that a full-length game is coming soon. Suits like these are creative enough not to make the motion control feel like too much of a gimmick and eventually make you hate it.

It’s the kind of charming 3D adventure rarely seen outside of Nintendo, one dripping with inventive ideas and heartwarming details. And it might just be the ideal game to sell you on a PlayStation 5. Every function and feature of the controller gets a little time in the spotlight. Pervasive and distinct rumble effects steal the show, from the tiny sensation of Astro’s footsteps to thundering moments like an Indiana Jones-style boulder chase. The triggers offer resistance as you charge your jumps in a frog suit or operate the levers on a toy machine.

The game is broken down into multiple levels, and each one stands out in its unique way. It’s worth noting however that this isn’t the same model from the demo. After jumping up the trigger platforms and tripping a Checkpoint, check the right-hand side for tow Bots hiding from a third with mushrooms on its head. The mushroom Bot refers to a Clicker, a human taken over by parasitic fungi, while the two characters are Joel and Ellie. Joel is holding a brick, a common weapon and means of distraction in the game.

This is a reference to 2020’s Death Stranding by Kojima Productions on PS4, which stars Norman Reedus as courier Sam Bridges in a post-apocalyptic America. In the first mud pit in Gusty Gateway, look in the right-hand corner for a skeleton swinging a sword around with a distinctive shield. The shield reveals that this is a reference to 1998’s MediEvil on PS1 by SCE Cambridge, about the knight Sir Daniel Fortesque being brought back to life so he can live up to his own falsified legacy. The PlayStation 5 Pro is the more powerful version of the original PlayStation 5, similar to the PlayStation 4 Pro.

Up until the 2017 game, Everybody’s Golf was called Hot Shots Golf in North America. Despite looking like a handheld, the PlayStation Portal doesn’t run games by itself. Instead NK88 ‘s used to connect to a PlayStation 5 and play compatible games via Remote Play (a feature that dates back to the PlayStation Vita playing PS3 games). The majority of the trophies fall into the Bronze category, rewarding players for completing specific tasks within each of the game’s four worlds. These tasks often involve utilizing the DualSense controller’s features in creative ways, such as blowing into the microphone or precisely controlling Astro using the adaptive triggers. The closest parallel to Astro’s Playroom that I can think of is Wii Sports. Both are games that were explicitly designed to showcase a new controller. But both also transcend that goal, shifting from tech demo to straight-up fun game. [newline]It takes only a few moments for Astro’s Playroom to show why you’ll want to play with a DualSense, and over the course of its run time it keeps giving you new reasons. Adding the PS5 Pro Artifact could be a good excuse for players to return to Astro’s Playroom.
